3 words. They decide what we build, how far we take it, and who we build it for. Each one costs us something, so each one comes with what it makes us refuse.
We ask a lot of questions before we write a line of code. Every trade we've built for has taught us something we didn't know to look for, and it's almost always hiding in the question we nearly didn't ask.
So we won't arrive with the answer already picked.
We finish things properly. The edge case gets handled, the error message says something a human can act on, and the bug that only shows up on a Sunday gets fixed before anyone has their Sunday ruined by it.
So we won't ship the version that mostly works.
Someone uses this one-handed, in the rain, running late, on a cracked phone. That's who we design for. Getting it wrong should be easy to undo and never make anyone feel stupid.
So we won't build for the demo instead of the day.
If a page says an app is live, it's live. If it says in build, it isn't finished yet. If we quote a number, it's a real one.
